Paracord narua on alunperin käytetty nimensä mukaisesti USA armeijan laskuvarjoissa. Paracord on erittäin kestävää ja samalla hyvin kevyttä narua. Yhden narun paksuus on n. 4mm, hihnassa on käytetty 4 narua joista punonta muodostuu eli hihnasta tulee n. 1cm paksuinen.
